Once your Application is approved and you have completed the New Student Setup you will begin your studies by clicking on your assigned course. In the example below, the first lesson is 101 Pentateuch Overview.
When we click on that assignment we are taken to the assignment page. Assignment pages contain links to .pdf files that contain the lesson. By clicking on the link, the file downloads to your computer allowing you to save the print the lesson or save it to your computer
Notice in the lower left corner of this screen example is the downloaded file. When you click on the download, the file opens.
Each lesson in your course is formatted in a similar way. After a few lessons, you will quickly recognize the format. We do that so information is repeated over and over again to instill learning.

At the end of every lesson is a list of study questions that will help your review the information that you have studied. These questions have been thoughtfully prepared to assist you in mastering the content and concepts the lesson is trying to impart. Once that you have studied your lesson, you are ready to take the quiz. Let’s return to the home page of our course.

The second assignment is 101 Pentateuch Overview Quiz. Click on that and we are taken to the quiz.
When you are ready, click Take the Quiz. This quiz has 20 questions and is worth 100 points. Questions are a mix of true/false, multiple choice, multiple answer or matching questions. Occasionally, you may come across a fill in the blank question, but CES does not use or require essay type questions. Quiz answers are always contained in the lesson or the scriptures being studied. Notice there is no time limit on quizzes, but once you have submitted an answer, you will not be able to go back and change any prior answers. So take your time and think about what the question is asking you.
Notice that the bar on the right side of the screen keeps track of where you are in the quiz.
If I accidently click on the Submit Quiz button before I have finished, a dialogue box pops up asking me if I am sure I want to submit.
As soon as you complete the quiz and click submit, you are given your score. No waiting, no wondering. While its all still fresh in your mind you can review your quiz and understand which questions you missed and what the correct answer was.
Notice that I received a score of 95 out of 100. Scrolling down, I see that I missed Question 17.
Now that we have completed 101 Pentateuch Overview, we are ready for 101 Genesis Overview, then Chapter 1, and so on. Each course is set up with prerequisites. Before you can complete Chapter 2, you must have completed all of the assignments before Chapter 2.
